Reliable Access to Clean Water is Now a Reality at Kangeme Community Centre, Tanzania

Introduction

Access to clean water is essential for every community, yet for many schools in rural Tanzania, it remains a daily challenge. Reliable water is needed not only for drinking, but also for preparing meals, maintaining hygiene, and creating a safe learning environment for children.

Thanks to the support of DeFi for Good Foundation and our partners, the new rainwater harvesting system at Kangeme Community Centre has now been successfully completed and is serving the school and the wider community.

Project Delivered

The new rainwater tank is now fully operational, providing a reliable source of water throughout the year for students, teachers, and local residents.

By collecting and storing rainwater, the system helps reduce water shortages while supporting the school's daily operations. It provides water for cooking, cleaning, sanitation, and other essential needs, improving both hygiene and the overall wellbeing of everyone who uses the facility.

The project also strengthens the community's resilience by providing a more sustainable and dependable water source, particularly during periods when access to water becomes more limited.atter.

Lasting Impact

Reliable access to water supports every aspect of school life.

With this new rainwater harvesting system in place, students and teachers can benefit from a healthier learning environment, while the wider community gains access to an essential resource that will continue serving local families for years to come.

This completed project reflects DeFi for Good Foundation's commitment to supporting practical, sustainable solutions that improve everyday life and strengthen communities through long-term impact.
