In August 2025, the DeFi for Good Foundation launched the “Solidarity Boat program” in Argentina. In the heart of Santiago del Estero, in the rural town of Suncho Corral, life for many families is shaped by scarcity. Despite the region’s agricultural roots, opportunities remain limited, and countless households struggle each day to secure enough food.
The combination of unstable employment, low wages, and harsh seasonal conditions leaves children and parents facing days, and often weeks, of profound uncertainty. During the coldest winters or heavy rains, when remote homes become isolated and incomes drop even further, hunger becomes an ever-present threat.

Through the Solidarity Boat Project, vital humanitarian assistance is reaching those who need it most. Every month, volunteers prepare and deliver boxes filled with essentials such as flour, rice, pasta, sugar, milk, and cooking oil, goods that many families simply cannot afford. These boxes are more than nourishment; they are reassurance that someone cares, especially for households led by single mothers, elderly caregivers, or relatives supporting children left without parental protection.
At only USD 70 per month per family, the impact of each contribution is profound, providing a full month of nutrition and relief from the daily stress of food insecurity. The Solidarity Boat continues to be a symbol of unity, compassion, and shared humanity in one of Argentina’s most vulnerable regions.
